philosophy

My offering is based on the principles of partnership, personal empowerment and optimism. I have come to appreciate that my heart lies in the humanistic approach.

This emphasises people are basically good, and have an innate need to make themselves and the world better. There is a focus on the personal worth of the individual, the centrality of human values, and the creative, active nature of human beings.

I have independent practice, providing 1 to 1 and group supervision, facilitation and training across health, education and social care settings. I also work for a leading Supervision and Consultancy Company In-Trac and until recently provided Consultancy support as a Clinical Supervisor for the NHS Restorative Clinical Supervision Programme.

My degree in Social Policy and Psychology, sparked an interest in how things connect, inter-relate and drive behaviour. I have held a range of leadership roles in housing, children’s policy, workforce reform and safeguarding, working locally, regionally and nationally for public sector organisations and government departments.

Later training in client centred counselling, hypnotherapy, supervision and facilitation. I have spent five years working as a therapist in integrated health centres in Leeds and am currently undertaking further training exploring stress reduction techniques to respond to trauma.
